After all the blather about black & white and dry media, here is one in colour, although monochromatic, using a combination wet and dry medium, watercolour pencil. One of my favourite drawings.

This was one of a series of drawings commissioned by interior designer Susan Burns for one of her clients. I started working from old gesture drawings. What I found interesting in this process was discovering why some original gesture drawings worked for this purpose and others were inadequate: it was the amount of information that was there... or not. I was continually berating myself why I hadn't noticed while I doing the original drawing that something was missing or not delineated sufficiently. Yes, I could make it up, but doing so often weakened the new drawing.
